Victoria House
Tastefully retrofitting a timeless, listed building with modern technology

Victoria House is a neoclassical building set in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter, standing on the long, rectangular island between Bloombury Square and Southampton Row. The impressive, grade II listed property is renowned for it’s beautiful architecture and plays host to a variety of events, including fashion shows, exhibitions and corporate gatherings, thanks to its close proximity to the vibrant West End and the capital’s financial hub.
Within these historic walls, LABS have designed contemporary workspaces which contrast elegantly with the sophisticated exterior, creating a warm design aesthetic. The updated design promotes relaxation through the use of natural materials, a neutral colour palette and vast swathes of natural light, flooding in through the large windows.
Lighting design studio Light Bureau appointed Eulum Design to refurbish the existing light fittings and bring them, subtly, into the twenty-first century. Included in the brief were a variety of heritage fittings from the entrance, lobby, bar and glass walkway areas of the building, all requiring modern LED technology and intelligent wireless control.
Over a period of 6 months, Eulum worked to revitalise these fittings, opting for warm LEDs and Casambi wireless controls, enabled by our range of controllers.
The renewed lighting contrasts perfectly with the neutral interior palette, making a bold statement in the lobby that catches your eye as you enter the bulding.
Eulum Design is proud of our role in assisting Light Bureau and LABS to preserve this beautiful building, while giving it the function and purpose required of a structure in Central London.
